The Nail Shed, a new nail studio in Staffordshire, prioritises an inclusive environment for neurodivergent clients. Owner Casey Hayzelden, who qualified in 2025, designed the salon to offer a calm and private alternative to traditional high street spaces.
Hayzelden's vision for The Nail Shed centres on creating a welcoming atmosphere that mitigates overstimulation. Features like ambient lighting and insulated walls were chosen specifically to support clients who may feel anxious or overwhelmed in conventional salon settings. This focus on comfort and atmosphere guided the entire design process, from conception to completion.
Despite renovation setbacks, including a significant flood, The Nail Shed opened after six months of work. The studio offers a range of services, including gel polish, builder gel, extensions, and nail art, using brands like Roxi and Kiki London. Hayzelden emphasizes brands that support nail health and maintain high hygiene standards.
Hayzelden also aims to contribute to the wider nail industry by sharing knowledge and supporting newer technicians. Her ambition is for The Nail Shed to be a space where learning and wellbeing are as valued as creativity.
