Kleek Apprenticeships has introduced the Kleek Ambassador Programme, selecting up to 12 apprentices annually for a 6-month tenure. This initiative, backed by L’Oréal Professional Products, aims to elevate apprentices as regional representatives for vocational training in the hair and beauty sectors.
Apprentices, regardless of their current social media proficiency, can apply. The programme offers training and mentorship, intended to foster new skills, expand professional networks, and improve personal branding. It also seeks to boost apprentices' salons' online visibility and marketing efforts.
Selected ambassadors will receive exclusive benefits from L’Oréal Professional Products, including a special experience day at their HQ in September and a goody bag. The 2026 cohort will be announced on April 1, 2026.
Tina Ockerby, MD of Kleek Apprenticeships, highlighted social media's critical role for stylists and therapists. She emphasised its function as a marketing tool and a platform for engaging with clients and the wider industry. For apprentices, it provides a space to document their development, attract clientele, and build their professional reputation.
While the programme acknowledges social media's value, its success hinges on integrating these ambassadorial activities with tangible business growth for apprentices and their salons. The specific metrics for success beyond brand representation are not detailed.
