Sassoon has unveiled its new LIBERTINE collection, a collaboration between Senior International Creative Director Mark Hayes and International Creative Director Richard Ashforth. The collection draws inspiration from the 'Bright Young Things' of interwar London, aiming to blend rebellious glamour with modern style for a new generation.
Visually, the LIBERTINE collection features cuts described as collapsing and expanding with movement, aiming for a look of 'studied insouciance' that is both disciplined and free. Hair colours are presented as decadent yet restrained, with tones shifting between satin shine and velvet matte, evoking styles from the 1920s to the 1990s.
To support the collection, Sassoon is offering a 'Collection Experience Course' led by its Creative Team. This 5-day programme runs on January 12th and March 2nd, 2026. It promises participants an immersive experience into the collection's techniques in cutting and colouring, alongside live model demonstrations and insights into the creative process.
The course targets salon professionals with at least five years of experience and an NVQ Level 2 qualification. It aims to elevate creative skills and introduce participants to the latest trends. The focus is on interactive learning, allowing attendees to ask questions directly to the Sassoon Creative Team.
This initiative highlights Sassoon's ongoing commitment to education. For salon owners and senior stylists, these courses represent a structured way to update technical skills and gain inspiration. The challenge for many will be the cost and time commitment involved in attending such intensive training, particularly for smaller businesses operating on tighter margins.
