MOOD has announced 15 individuals who will compete for a place on its new Lifestyle Artistic Team. Artistic Director Tracey Ann Smith leads this initiative, which aims to promote excellence in hair colour, care, and styling.
Applicants submitted a video detailing their career and aspirations, alongside two images of their work: one professional shot and one behind-the-chair example, or two behind-the-chair images if a professional shoot was not feasible. The selected finalists will now proceed to blind auditions on March 1st at Blank Space Creative in Nottingham. They will face a live brief, requiring them to demonstrate a cut, colour, and style using MOOD products.
The judging panel, which includes industry figures Marlene Lamont, Simon Tuckwell, and Barrie Stephen, will evaluate candidates on their cutting, colouring, and styling skills, along with their presentation abilities and overall fit for the team. The announcement marks a significant step for MOOD as it prepares to launch a new era for its artistic representation. The quality of initial applications was described as 'incredible' by Tracey Ann Smith, who expressed excitement for the upcoming practical assessments.
