The hair and beauty sector recently united for a charity tennis tournament, raising £500 for industry members facing hardship. Held at Weybridge Riverside Lawn Tennis Club, the event saw professionals and brands participate in matches, contributing to the Hair & Beauty Charity’s support initiatives.
Philip Sharp, a committee member for the charity, organised the day which included competitive play and casual doubles. Attendees enjoyed lunch from Salon Vision, with Champagne prizes from LEAF Scissors and Tom Gold Hair. Jonty Olivier and Mary Beasley were named winners for their respective teams.
This event highlights the industry's collective effort to support those in need. The Hair & Beauty Charity provides financial and practical aid to professionals experiencing difficult times. The president, Jayne Lewis-Orr, expressed gratitude for the participation, stating that such events enable significant contributions to supporting struggling individuals within the sector.
While the £500 raised is a positive outcome, the industry's capacity for greater fundraising remains an avenue for exploration. Continued engagement across various events, like the previously held golf day, demonstrates a strong commitment. The charity's ongoing need for support suggests a potential for larger-scale initiatives or broader participation to increase the funds available for its vital work.
