For the Paris Fashion Week AW26 Stella McCartney show, Hair Director Eugene Souleiman prioritised hair health, restoring models' hair to its natural state before styling. This approach created an effortless and authentic look, mirroring the collection's themes of freedom and nature.
The team tackled existing product build-up by cleansing and hydrating hair, aligning with KEVIN.MURPHY's skincare-inspired philosophy. Specific treatments were chosen based on individual hair types and conditions. For porous, thick, or curly hair, PLUMPING.WASH and PLUMPING.RINSE were used. MAXI.WASH removed heavy product build-up, resetting the hair.
Lightweight treatments like STAYING.ALIVE were applied to balance porosity and enhance movement. KEVIN.MURPHY's overnight hydrating serum, NIGHT.SHIFT, also featured, delivering moisture for improved texture and manageability the next day. Styling involved minimal intervention, with ANTI.GRAVITY used to boost lift and texture.
Souleiman described the final look as a natural yet elevated texture, achieved by shaking the hair and diffusing. He referenced the '70s style of Stella McCartney's mother as inspiration, aiming for a cool, chic, and effortlessly polished appearance. This focus on healthy, natural hair suggests a growing trend for authenticity on the runway.
