ERGO founder Robert Reed stated the collection's name reflects the disorienting experience of a cancer diagnosis. He added that maintaining hair offers patients a sense of privacy and control.
In 2025, HairToStay provided subsidies for 1,481 scalp cooling treatments, an 18% rise from 2024. To date, the charity has awarded $5,134,000 in subsidies. Ninety-nine percent of applicants found the subsidy crucial for accessing scalp cooling.
Furthermore, 88% of recipients reported positive impacts on their well-being from scalp cooling. A significant 92% felt more agency over their treatment journey. These figures highlight the profound psychological and practical benefits of these treatments for individuals undergoing cancer therapy.
While ERGO's contribution is substantial, the industry's continued engagement with such causes is vital. Expanding awareness of HairToStay's work beyond specific product launches could broaden its reach. Salon owners can play a role by educating clients about available support systems.
