Libby Bowden, a student at Collinge & Co Training, has won the Denman College Star – Big Blowout Competition 2026. She received the top prize for her polished, mid-length blow-dry showcasing volume and movement.
The annual competition drew over 750 entries from hairdressing students across the UK. Entrants submitted four images demonstrating their best blow-dry technique. The contest aims to highlight emerging talent within the industry.
Bowden's win earns her £1,000 cash and a Denman College Styling Kit. Her college department also receives a bundle of Denman tools valued at £200. This investment in educational resources supports future student training.
The Denman College Star Big Blowout Competition 2027 opens for entries on 15 February 2027. The focus remains on rewarding skilled blow-drying techniques, an essential service in many salons.
