Crate Cheshire has officially rebranded to Crate Collective. This name change signifies a strategic shift as the business expands beyond its original Cheshire roots. The move follows the successful launch of their fourth location, Crate Manchester, in December 2025.
Crate Manchester operates as a co-working space specifically designed for barbers. While co-working models are common in hairdressing, a dedicated barber-focused environment was identified as a significant market gap. Founder Charles Rose reports the Manchester venture has been highly successful, with five barbers operating rented chairs and maintaining a steady client base just three months post-launch.
This rebrand to Crate Collective reflects the company's broader ambitions. Charles Rose stated that the name change was prompted by plans for further expansion, including two new locations slated for the Midlands in 2026. The Collective model aims to provide barbers with autonomy to run their own businesses while benefiting from the Crate brand, direct support from Charles and Alex Rose, and a cultivated community.
The transition to Crate Collective marks a key moment for the business, acknowledging its current growth and future aspirations. The company's commitment to a community ethos and its clear expansion strategy position it to continue influencing the UK barbering sector. Further developments are anticipated for 2026.
