Emilia Caddy has launched Meemees Nails, a new nail studio located just outside Brighton and Hove. The business combines vibrant nail services with a welcoming, dog-friendly atmosphere, featuring Caddy's two resident pugs. Caddy, originally from France, retrained in nail technology after experiencing burnout in a previous corporate insurance role.
After establishing herself as a self-employed nail technician, Caddy decided to invest in her own dedicated space. The studio build, completed in two weeks at the start of the year, reflects Caddy's personality and Brighton's characteristic colourful aesthetic. Services include gel manicures, pedicures, BIAB™, and hard gel treatments, with a focus on personalised client consultations.
The emphasis on individual client needs, discussing goals and lifestyles, is a practical approach for a sole practitioner. Caddy uses brands like The GelBottle Inc, TWENTY™, and American Creator, also favouring Korean and Japanese cat eye gel polishes. This curated selection suggests a commitment to offering diverse and current options.
Meemees Nails actively cultivates a relaxed environment, ensuring clients are not rushed and have time for conversation. The inclusion of a dog-friendly policy, allowing clients to see their pets in a secure garden space, adds a unique selling point. Caddy aims to build a local community and be recognised as a destination clients look forward to visiting.
